As 2011 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your support of the Austin Children’s Chorus.

ACC has had a spectacular year.  We welcomed an amazing new Artistic Director, Mr. Garrett F. Martin, and a host of singers of exceptional talent and dedication.

We were pleased to perform at the Carver Museum, the Dell Children’s Gala, the Austin Museum of Art, and the Texas Wildflower Center.  ACC was honored to be chosen to perform for Extreme Makeover- Home Edition- look for ACC on the Christmas 2012 episode!  And we were pleased to have the opportunity to sing the challenging and beautiful work, the Britten Ceremony of Carols, with Chorus Austin.

Most recently, we have been invited to perform at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York.  As we prepare for this event, fund-raising figures prominently in our preparations.

Whether you are reading this page for the first time or a long-time supporter, please consider whether you or someone you know might be ready to take the next step.  We welcome donations of all kinds, whether financial contribution, a gift of your time, or a donation of goods or services for our annual Silent Auction.

Thank you for your support and for helping to make all this possible!

They have rebuilt a home for a family who lost theirs in the wildfires this summer. We’ll post video from our experience afterward!!

Austin Children’s Choir – 2011 Fall Concert

The Austin Children’s Choir performed their annual Fall Concert at Highland Park Baptist on Oct. 28. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event! This video portrays a snapshot of the evening, beginning with a captivating piano solo by Artistic Director, Garret Martin, followed by these featured songs:

I Can’t Give You Anything But Love – Featured in many films, television shows and covered by famous artists such as Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, this song is best known as a hit from the 1920s.
Rhythm of Life – This melody has a habit of perking up anyone’s spirits. The
show-tune is a Broadway number for the hit musical, Sweet Charity, which took home 12 Tony Awards in 1966. Quite the tongue-twister, the kids always look forward to singing this jazz number.
You’ll Never Walk Alone – Originally from the 1945 musical Carousel, this touching sound will give you chills!

We are extremely proud of how far this year’s ensemble has come! They sound strong and cohesive. Months of practice sure has paid off!

Welcome!
